Making a Bow Towel

A few seconds and two kitchen towels are all you need to create the easiest holiday ribbon you’ve ever made. Any color or pattern of towel will do; you can choose two identical towels to make a monochrome bow, or choose complementary holiday colors for a festive look. 

Fold your first towel into a rectangle and scrunch it gently in the center. This towel will become the top part of your bow. To make the center and ends, fold another towel into a long, thin rectangle. 

Hold your first towel by the scrunched center, and place it over the middle of your second towel. Both ends of your second towel should run vertically from the top and bottom of your bow. 

Take the top of your second towel and fold it down over the center of the first towel. Pull it taut, and you’ll have turned your towel into a beautiful bow.

Finishing It Off

Rather than tying it together, stick the ends of your towel bow into your towel holder or oven handle. This will press the ends of your bow together, keeping it in shape. This is also better for your towels in the long run, since they’re likely to wrinkle when tied. 

If you want to make it easier to use your towel while it's in bow form, make the fold for the ends of your bow thicker so that you can still dry your hands.

Try This Bow Hack with Other Towels and Fabrics

Kitchen towels aren’t the only towels you can turn into bows. The hand towels in your bathroom will work, too. Keep in mind that towels made of thinner fabric will fold more easily and look more like bows.
