Trader Joe’s Is Expanding Again with 9 New Stores Planned Across the U.S.

The newest locations are as follows:

Florida: 8199 S Tamiami Trail, Unit 100
Illinois: 804 West Montrose Ave.
Massachusetts: 111 General McConville Way
Michigan: 27658 Middlebelt Rd.
New York: 3515 West Genesee St.
New York: 2482 Central Park Ave.
Ohio: 2643 Warrensville Center Rd.
Utah: 5561 W 7800 S.

Now that the grocer has added nine new stores to its “Coming Soon” list, you can expect them to open sometime within the next six months. As construction on the new stores continues, each store’s page on the Trader Joe’s website will be updated with an official grand opening date. Many of the 18 stores from the last batch of Trader Joe’s announcements have already had their grand openings.

Once each new store officially opens, its announcement post on the Trader Joe’s website will be updated to reflect its new status. This way, you can keep track of all the new Trader Joe’s locations near you.

What Makes a Location Fit for a Trader Joe’s?

Each new Trader Joe’s location requires lots of consideration from the retailer. Rather than take over a competing grocery store, Trader Joe’s prefers to look for buildings with an appropriately sized footprint, a well-flowing entrance and exit, and a central location. While the retailer may not be known for having large parking lots, its smaller and more accessible store formats are certainly consistent across the country.

If your area is sorely lacking a Trader Joe’s location, don’t lose hope just yet. There are still more store opening announcements from the brand to come.
