The Sentimentalist

Her new collection with Los Angeles-based home decor brand Olive Ateliers reflects what’s special about this slower-paced life. Called The Sentimentalist, the collection features a range of timeless (yet trending) rattan furniture and decor.

The line of more than 40 items includes a rattan sofa and loveseat with lounge chairs and armchairs to match. Rattan ottomans, benches, stools, and coffee tables help complete the look, along with pillows and cushions available in various shades of blue and grey stripes that carry forward the coastal feel. 

What Inspired It

The collection pulls direct inspiration from Anderson’s childhood, and particularly her grandmother’s farm on the Salish Sea, as the star wrote on the collection’s homepage. The actress grew up in the same rural Canadian setting where she lives today. 

“I remember our tiny cabin on the rocky beach, the wood turned silver from years of salt and weather," she wrote. "Even then, I was drawn to things that age and soften with time—furniture that holds you at dawn, pieces that grow more beautiful the longer you live with them. The best objects become part of your rituals. This collection feels like home to me—unpretentious, a little French, a little wild. Pieces made to be used, worn in, and lived with.” 

The line is rounded out by a selection of three teak tables, a stunning rattan bar cart, a rattan dog bed, a number of rattan baskets, and fitted covers to help keep your pieces protected during the winter months. 

Shop the Collection

The full collection is available to shop online now, but if you're based in California, you can catch a glimpse of the collection in person. Items can also be viewed in person at the Olive Ateliers flagship store, located at 1210 Mateo St. in Los Angeles. The store is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pricing on the collection ranges from $35 for some covers to $95 for its lumbar pillows, up to $3,000 for the rattan sofas or $3,495 for the show-stopping extendable teak dining table.
