Where Is IKEA Coming in 2026?
IKEA will wrap up its 2026 expansion with an additional five stores in the following locations:
- Gurnee, Illinois
- Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Madison, Wisconsin
- SoHo, New York City
- Sarasota, Florida
The first four stores will open during the fall, while the Sarasota location is preparing for a winter opening. None of the stores currently have official opening dates; these will be announced by IKEA closer to completion.
Most of these locations will receive full-size IKEA stores, except for the SoHo location, which will see a smaller, two-story IKEA. The SoHo IKEA occupies 25,000 square feet, which sounds sizable until you compare it to the average 300,000-square-foot IKEA warehouse.
IKEA Is Already Planning New Stores for 2027
Two additional IKEA stores have been slated to open in 2027 in Buffalo, New York, and Fort Collins, Colorado. These full-sized stores will be finished in the winter, so there’s still a way to go before they open their doors to the public.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see several more IKEA stores open alongside these new locations next year. IKEA currently has 49 total warehouses across the U.S. Barring any store closures, we’ll have a whopping 53 full-sized stores to browse by the end of this year.
Whether IKEA plans to bring any new stores to the 23 states that currently have no IKEA at all is still to be seen. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that 2027 will bring good news for those who are still IKEA-less.
