Additionally, if you list your home during the week of April 12, Realtor.com data shows you’ll likely face less competition than if you wait until late spring or summer. While June sees median housing prices peak, according to Realtor.com, it’s not an easy market for sellers. Realtor.com says that 38.4% additional new sellers join the market during peak season, which means you’d have a lot more competition if you wait.

How to Quickly Get Your Home Ready to Sell

If you are looking to sell, there's no time to waste. Realtor.com says that over 50% of home buyers can get their houses on the market in one month or less, so while you aren't necessarily behind, you'll certainly want to kick things into gear.

Start by finding a real estate agent and addressing any quick fixes before you show your home to buyers. Decluttering your house will do wonders for how buyers perceive your home, too. Staging your home and having photos taken is next, at which point you can go live with your listing and prepare to host showings.
