6 Girl Scout Cookie and Wine Pairings That Make Dessert Even More Fun

1. Exploremores and Chardonnay

New cookie alert! Exploremores joined the Girl Scout Cookie lineup for the first time this year. We recommend pairing this rookie cookie, known for its rocky road ice cream flavor profile, with a classic, multifaceted Chardonnay. The crisp white wine is extremely versatile and is the perfect complement to this s'more-like sandwich cookie that boasts many flavors.

Opt for an oak-aged Chardonnay to bring out Chardonnay's sweeter notes, like cream and hazelnut, which will go great with the Exploremores' almond crème center.

2. Adventurefuls and a Cabernet Sauvignon

You'll be hard-pressed to find a richer, more indulgent Girl Scout Cookie than the Adventureful: a brownie-like cookie surrounds a salted caramel crème center and is drizzled in even more chocolate. When it comes to enjoying chocolate, you can't go wrong with a Cabernet Sauvignon. Many Cab Savs often have chocolaty notes that would make perfect sense with such a chocolate-forward cookie.

3. Do-si-Dos and Prosecco

Doesn't a name like Do-si-Do make you feel like celebrating? Pop a Prosecco cork and get to enjoying. The bubbles and crispness of Prosecco—the drier, the better—elevate the deceivingly simple flavors of oatmeal and peanut butter that Do-si-Dos have to offer.

4. Tagalongs and Merlot

The Girl Scouts love their peanut butter, and there are few better combos on earth than peanut butter and chocolate. Enter Tagalongs, also known as Peanut Butter Patties, which feature a crispy cookie and creamy peanut butter, all coated in chocolate.

For these particular cookies, we recommend enjoying them alongside a glass of Merlot. The fuller body of Merlot brings a savoryness to the nuttiness. Plus, the pairing is almost reminiscent of a PB&J sandwich, which we'd be remiss not to mention.

5. Lemonades and Moscato d'Asti

Lemonades are among the most distinctive cookies in the Girl Scout Cookie lineup, leaning on citrus rather than the richness of chocolate or peanut butter, as in many of its peers. To take the citrusy notes of the Lemonade frosting to another level, look to Moscato d'Asti, a sweet, sparkly dessert white wine that will naturally balance the tanginess.

6. Toffee-tastics and Tawny Port

Tawny port is another wine often served with the dessert course. Tawny port's claim to fame is how long it is aged, often in wooden barrels, before it's made available to enjoy. Because of this deep, barrel-aged flavor, it pairs wonderfully with a Toffee-tastic cookie, a butter cookie encrusted with bits of sweet toffee.
