1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
2 ounces pepper jack cheese, shredded (about 1/2 cup)
2 medium scallions
1 medium jalapeño
1 (8 1/4-ounce) can cream-style corn
