Consider installing or hanging a stained glass window directly above another window. Not only will the stained glass add extra color to the room, but it will make your original window seem taller. When picking a stained glass piece, choose one that is the same width as your original window so it blends seamlessly.

If you want to save time and still incorporate the vintage, eclectic look, try hanging a stained glass window on a wall in your home. While it won't let in any additional natural light, the window wall decor will provide color and pattern to your space.

When hanging the window, drill holes into studs in your wall so the window doesn't fall and break. Attach heavy-duty hooks to the frame of the window and brackets on the wall, or use durable picture wire to hang the frame.

Contrary to most stained glass in religious buildings, stained glass windows in a home don't have to be large. If you're looking to make a small upgrade to your space or you want to add a bit of color, consider adding a pair of smaller stained glass windows. Switch out your regular windows for stained ones, or use the stained glass exclusively for decor by hanging them on your wall.

Save yourself the elbow grease of replacing old windows with new ones, and hang stained glass ones on top to create a layered look. Use smaller stained glass windows so they look as if they're nestled inside of the original windows. To hang, insert eye screws in the ceiling (or the frame of the original window if sturdy enough) and the frame of the stained glass. Hang the stained glass with a chain from the eye hooks.
